New interest in the Icke

Journal Entry: Fri Dec 11, 2009, 6:10 PM
I hope all of you are well

I'm soo pumped for the Christmas season is truly in high gear! Things seemed to have gone from shaky to sturdy overnight, at the beginning of the month, I felt so freaked, I have two kidlets to buy for, and was sort of wondering what on earth was going to go down with that, as we'd gotten into a bit of an accident back in Nov. Also, one of my commissioned pieces was given back to me by a client (which really upset me, as she did it over Facebook) and I was so counting on that money for gifts, buuut then, the money thing just got better! I wound up getting extra hours at work, and a good friend bought one of my paintings, so things are back on track for me now :D I'm so grateful, and it feels like this Christmas is going to be a good one after all ;) Though I kinda' feel shallow complaining about money when I know how tough it is out there for everyone...I truly wish that we didn't have such a commercial holiday, at the end of the year nonetheless, it just seems really ridiculous! I'd much rather give my art away lol, but don't think everyone is that into my stuff that I'd impose on them like that.

There is a whole lot of insanity in the world, and truly I sometimes just feel it's a bit much to really think about it all the time, so I kind of just hide away in my little village and paint :P That's my solution, to bring beauty into the world. Also with my healing work, I feel a large sense of relief that I can send loving energies to the earth, thus helping move our species to a higher level..at least that is my hope! I just started reading a book by David Icke. I'm interested in Conspiracy theories, though I don't like the fear attached to them, I feel that it's enlightening to at least try to hear people out. And this guy has a lot of interesting stuff to say! He compares the human condition to a computer program (which is smart in a technology driven world), and our bodies to an actual computer. He talks about the conditions of society, and who is truly in charge (not who you'd think!)...I really recommend reading his work, if you enjoy a challenge that is ;)

Anyways, mysteriously I have a 12 Month membership, I wonder if it's just a glitch? Or if someone out there gifted me, if they did, THANK YOU!! :glomp: It's appreciated, I love featuring other's work, and this will help me to do just that! Hopefully it doesn't disappear by tomorrow lol.

Okay, so I'm going to stop talking now! And will instead do a lovely little feature!! Yay!!

First is Wynterskye :iconwynterskye:

:iconsugarcream: Now Sugarcream, who's work is so cute and yet sort of dark :D She really inspires me!

:iconsupergrass1975: Supergrass!! Photographical candy for youu to feast upon.

Tadaa I'm done! I will be sure to update soon :D And will likely be going nuckingfuts over the next little bit with features hehe :giggle:

Love to you all!!

Denise

It's nearing that time of year once again. Frankly I'm totally shocked at how quickly the year has flown by! I just recently celebrated yet another birthday, can't believe I'm 33 already, I still feel 20! Bah, nothing I can do about the age thing, truly I must celebrate it! Apparently however in numerology, the number 33 represents guidance, where reducing it to the number six would mean an abundance of love (hehe, here's hoping for all that love to swing my way this upcoming year!!)

Upcoming events in my Universe, well there are a few, I'm participating in an art show called 'Gen X' a fundraiser to support the victims of Breast Cancer [link] that is happening next year...aaand this upcoming month the art group I am a part of (Sarnia Artist Workshop) is showing at the Lawrence House! So it'll be a lovely opportunity to show a piece and possibly make a sale too! Would be lovely for Christmas!

Also I wanted to mention I am open for commissions to anyone interested. Things have been going well in that area, I'm totally happy about that :D Though I'm very surprised at the pieces that are in demand, my shadow people of all things lol, so simple to do, but I guess they have a certain appeal. Really, I'm just happy people like my art.

Anyways, I wish you all the best!

Lots of love!

News in my world :D

Sun Oct 11, 2009, 7:39 AM
Hello! I hope all of you are well. :D

Just wanted to update my journal, it's been awhile. I miss doing features :( But, I'd much rather pay for satellite radio than a sub for D.A..it's simply a matter of priorities ;)

I recently had a little showing at my friend's Restaurant, the Adam's Apple, my art is still up, so if any local people would like to see my yoga series, you'll know where to find it! Actually another good friend of mine who happens to be a yoga instructor (owner of Mandorla Yoga) has agreed to take the series off my hands and have them installed in her studio (just as a kind of advertising if you will) which is nice! It's lovely to have such supportive friends.

The flow of the Universe has been so good lately, I'm feeling so connected to things, my funk has dissipated and I'm back on track. I think the change in seasons is helping me to focus better. I'm really a Pitta type so I like the cool weather and function much better in it.

I'm back into the Watercolors, and will have some new work to show soon!! So excited..I love W/C's so much, but for me, I sometimes feel the expense of framing to show them is a bit too much, I really don't want my art to be influenced by money, it will work out in the end!

A local art mag has asked me to do a mural for a halloween fundraiser, I am really looking forwards to working with Fix magazine on this project, I have to get cracking on that! It's coming up so fast! Also I'm modelling for Wearable Wonderland! I'll be wearing an original creation made entirely of book pages! How cool is that? Also, I'll be appearing at Bluewater Health's annual ball as a Parisian painter (the theme is a Paris cafe) so that ought to be fun!

Well, I hope you all have a terrific Thanksgiving holiday!

Namaste!

Denise.

Blinded by your beauty

I hope all is well with everyone!

Last night was THE best night ever!! For years I have been a HUGE fan of Leonard Cohen, his voice, his poetry, the love he is capable of conveying...welll it definately made the hour and a half drive to see him live well worthwhile ;) I thought I'd cry! He actually closed with "So long Marrianne" Just like I knew he would lol, and I swear the man is so spry at 72, it must be his faith that keeps him so young (that or lot's of L-o-v-e) -_^

I'm looking forwards to a wonderful month, I have Sarnia's Artwalk in two weeks time, along with Cat's Art Show involving me in a bikini with henna! Oh boyyy..I'm sort of nervous, I'm not really self conscious about my body normally, but when it's Sarnia and there are people milling about wellll it seems to be different somehow. Cat Cabajar has a wonderful thing going on however, and it is a privilege to help her out..so thus I put aside my nerves and just take the plunge..hopefully not emberassing myself hehe..if there are any photo's I will post!

On to features ;) This week I am doing a photography feature,

:iconguality:

I'll add a few more later from my faves ;)

Have a wonderful week!
